Ahhhhhh the New Year. It feels fresh and it feels ripe with possibility. Maybe that mindset is helped by a most amazing holiday I have just returned from!
My little family and I went to Woodford Folk Festival where my man presented in the Blue Lotus on sleep and participated in a panel on managing depression. It's pretty cool to see him up there, and the kids love the perks of being able to go backstage and plug in their iPads! (yes, we let them take their iPads to Woodford.) New years eve was danced in to the amazing, full of energy and radiating good vibes Nahko and Medicine for the People. No better way to bring in the year! The street performers, catching up with friends, hilarious circuses, amazing music, Woodford is a must go if you haven't been and an every year for us I hope! We travelled up to Toowoomba to visit old friends and upon returning I was called to a birth of a mama who was in labour a few weeks early. Talk about hitting the ground running! I hadn't even unpacked and off to support this beautiful woman bring her baby earth side. I am never more in awe of the power of women and the power of love then when I am at a birth. There is so much love surrounding mamatotos you can almost taste it. It is the power that holds each woman through the mighty surges that rock her body, the power that breathes babies into the world, and the power that connects them even if they are physically separated. Love is a force to be reckoned with and I am eternally grateful to have started off my year bearing witness to such magick and power. So what new for me this year? I have a few things brewing! I am putting self care high up on the agenda and enjoying the last couple weeks of school holidays by not stressing and letting the kids pretty much do whatever they want. I'm planning on doing more writing, less worrying, more yoga and less complaining about being sore. I will be releasing a calendar soon with all my workshops and events for the year very soon so make sure you are signed up to the mailing list to receive it. until next time sweet ones. xxx
